Industrial Microbiology | BIO3247
Basic laboratory skills such as isolation of bacteria, gram staining, and biochemical test were used to evaluate microorganisms in the production of commercial products. A written report was submitted on the isolation and classification of oil eating bacteria.
Biotechnology I| BIO3334
The Taq DNA polymerase gene was cloned from Thermus Aquaticus. This experiment included isolation, purification, cloning and analysis of DNA.

I&R BIO3277
I presented investigative research that I conducted under the direction of Dr. Teresa Singleton. The research is aimed toward understanding the mechanisms involved in target site selection of Tf1, a LTR Retrotransposson, in S. pombe. An experimental technique called Chromatin Immunoprecipitation-Polymerase Chain Reaction (ChIP – PCR) will be used. The preliminary phase of ChIP-PCR is the testing of PCR primers to amply Tf1 insertion regions. My contribution to the research was to test the primers.
Biotechnoly II | BIO3335
Protein analysis was evaluated on the Taq DNA polymerase. Isolation and analysis or RNA was completed followed by gene expression and protein analysis.
